The calf muscle is a large and small muscle in the posterior lower leg, the gastrocnemius and soleus. The soleus is beneath the gastrocnemius. Soleus tear symptoms are minor or acute coupled with bruising and swelling. Typically, treating a torn soleus muscle is done with an amalgam of
conditioning, heat, heel inserts, ice, massage, and medication
Promptly halt intense activity and exercising. Purchase two heel pads and always insert them inside all shoes you wear to minimize painful symptoms.
Daily, to dwindle swelling and abate pain take two ibuprofen or naproxen capsules every four to six hours.
Apply cold therapy (ice pack or bag of ice) wrapped with a towel and bind it around the soleus strain. The ice pack should compact against the center of pain. Ice the strain up to 20 minutes and remove it. Ice every three to four hours daily.
Upon inflammation mitigating start heat therapy (heating pad) various times daily.
Massage a solues strain for five minutes multiple times daily.
After inflammation and pain are stabilized condition a soleus muscle strain with the following workout. Stand with hands against the wall. Settle the foot on the side of the soleus tear forward, and situate the other aback. Gently shift the front knee forward and stretch the soleus. Maintain this stance five seconds and rest. Do 10 reps.
